General manager Steve Staios visited the TSN 1200 studio yesterday morning, where he discussed a number of newsworthy items ahead of the team’s season opener on Thursday.
I think one of the things that we saw signs of last year, and we're really seeing this year, is how much the Sens under Andlauer are operating as a top-tier organization. Things are calm, you can tell they have a plan, and I think by this point, they've built up some credit that being quiet doesn't mean they aren't doing anything.
I think that also tracks with returning Yak to junior; you don't see teams with development plans and programs and a chance at contending rushing prospects to fill gaps.
Good job Graham. I’m going g to be watching Brady tonight. I got the sense last year that he took the foot off the gas when he was playing the Panthers because of the deference to his brother, and not being allowed to fight him. Which gave Matthew license to do whatever the hell he wanted. And then in the spring he partied With those guys celebrating the cup win. I want to see him, cousins and greig to come out mean and lay out a couple of bodies.
Watching him open the press conference in French, pivot to English and then welcome Ullmark's family in Swedish was just such a nice detail. It may seem small in the greater scheme, but it's a marked change from the old regime.
Way to go SS. He radiates class and thoughtful intelligence. I think you captured that Graeme. All pieces seem to be moving in the right direction. A winning strategy now permeates the organization.
Great recap! Staios has done a nice job setting this team up for a better season this year.

If they had any brains this would be in The Hockey News.

Great read. Staio's statements are so measured and thoughtful. The whole tone of the organization is so far ahead of previously.
